Ingredients


2 slices of whole-grain or sourdough bread


1 ripe avocado


1 teaspoon lemon or lime juice


Salt to taste


Black pepper to taste


Optional toppings:


Red pepper flakes


Cherry tomatoes (halved)


Fried or poached egg


Feta cheese or goat cheese


Fresh herbs (parsley, cilantro, or chives)


Step 1: Toast the Bread

1. Place the bread slices in a toaster or on a skillet and toast them until golden brown and crisp.


Step 2: Prepare the Avocado Spread

1. Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.

2. Add lemon or lime juice to the avocado to prevent browning and enhance flavor.
